Botswana

One of Africa’s top destinations, Botswana is often referred to as the gem of Africa holding some of the highest arrays of wildlife and varied landscapes in the area, hence its rich biodiversity. Its lush Okavango delta, situated in the northwest of the country, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest inland delta in the world.  Botswana will leave you with an ‘Out of Africa’ feel and once-in-a-lifetime memories.

Our main focus is the Okavango delta and the Tuli block.

The Okavango Delta

Highlights:

  • Permanent marshlands and seasonally flooded plains. One of the very few major interior delta systems that does not flow into a sea or ocean, with a wetland system that is almost intact.
  • A rich habitat with a huge variety of mammal, bird, fish, reptile and plant species – enough to keep bird watchers and game enthusiasts busy for years !
  • Home to some of the world’s most endangered species of large mammal (cheetah, white and black rhino, African wild dog and lion).

The Tuli Block

Another hidden wilderness jewel – a narrow fringe of land at Botswana’s eastern border wedged between Zimbabwe and South Africa. It contains an abundance of wildlife and fascinating topography that makes it quite different from anywhere else in Botswana. The vegetation is spectacular, with gigantic nyala trees and baobabs amongst the rocky koppies. Much of the area is unfenced, allowing the animals to roam freely.
