With Natacha Calestrémé | South Africa

20 – 29 October 2025

Ten days rich in eco-conscious experiences, to rejuvenate far from the digital world, in the famous Balule and Timbavati private reserves, followed by a visit to the famous Blyde River Canyon and its surroundings.

Come and discover...

Share with Natacha Calestrémé extraordinary moments of connection with the animal world, while recharging your energies through the daily practice of rituals, protocols and experiences proposed by Natacha.

The Limpopo province is a land of magnificent, contrasting landscapes, typical of Africa. A region of infinite scenic beauty, endowed with great biodiversity, a rich cultural heritage and abundant wildlife.

In wilderness reserves preserved by conservation projects, you and Natacha will enjoy an unforgettable experience: immersion in nature, the practice of rituals to recharge your batteries, TRE® (Tension Release Exercise) in a serene, calm and caring environment.

Immerse yourself in the heart of the savannah with a 3-night walking safari in tents in the Balule private reserve: an invitation to disconnect from civilization and reconnect fully with the natural world. You’ll enjoy incredible walks, escorted by unrivalled safari guides.

For the next 3 nights, you’ll enjoy the comfort of a traditional tented lodge in the magnificent Timbavati Reserve: you’ll explore the bush in a 4×4 vehicle, allowing you to observe lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, elephants, hyenas and other animals up close!

During these first 6 days, you’ll discover the sounds and smells of the bush, and savour ecstatic moments of silence and fulfilment. You’ll enjoy an African sunrise while taking care of yourself. A campfire under the stars every evening will allow for moments of introspection, sharing and caring, not to mention joy and good humour!

Finish your trip with 3 nights at Nut Grove Manor, a charming property with large rooms, located in White River, privatised for your retreat. From here, you’ll explore the region – visiting a community project, Blyde river canyon, an elephant orphanage – and experience a 4×4 safari in the famous Kruger National Park.

Balule Private Game Reserve

The Balule Private Game Reserve – Tsonga for “buffalo” – is part of the legendary Kruger National Park. This private concession, criss-crossed by rivers, plains and immense savannah woodlands, is the ideal vantage point for tracking the Big Five, those great lords of the savannah that once terrified Africa’s hunters and poachers – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros. The reserve totals 35,000 hectares of green spaces where you can relax, recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature.

You’ll start your timeless journey with three days of bush walks with specialized guides. These walks offer you a rare chance to appreciate the true wilderness.

Walking safari – A gentle awakening to the sound of a multitude of birdsong, followed by early morning walks in silence in the heart of the savannah. The group will be guided to different areas each day.

Safari in 4×4 vehicle – If elephants don’t go unnoticed, if lions prowl around, stalking leopards is exhilarating. With the help of experienced safari guides, the chance of encountering one is highly likely. You’ll get up close and personal with the wild animals, thanks to the 4×4 vehicles specially designed for the safari.

Night safari – A night safari is a powerful experience. As night falls, unusual creatures take advantage of the darkness to hunt and feed – leopards, lions, hyenas, porcupines, galagos, wild dogs…. You’ll criss-cross the savannah at night in search of them.

Timbavati Game Reserve

Elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, baboon, cheetah, hyena, wild dog – the list of wildlife you’re likely to encounter in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve is a long one.

This reserve to the west of Kruger National Park covers 75,000 hectares and is part of Greater Kruger, where all Africa’s iconic mammals roam freely. Because it is a private reserve, 4×4 wildlife observation vehicles are allowed to travel off-road, unlike in Kruger National Park, where vehicles are restricted to paved roads. This allows for a more intimate encounter with the animals than is possible anywhere else.

An open-air spa, perched in a tree, is at your disposal during your stay (one free massage).

Nourish Eco Village

Nourish eco village

On October 26, you’ll visit the Nourish community project and enjoy a typical local meal on site (vegetarian meal optional).

Nourish is a platform linking Conservation to local communities, finding sustainable and integrated solutions to problems linked to Conservation projects such as poaching, poverty, low levels of education and food insecurity.

On the program:

– Meeting with a “gogo” – old village woman, who will demonstrate wicker basket weaving, and explain the habits and customs of the tsonga (or Shangaan) culture.
– Meeting with a “sangoma” – local healer, who will explain some of the uses of local medicinal plants.

Blyde River Canyon

On October 27, you’ll spend the day discovering the majestic Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, north of the Drakensberg mountain range. A must-see!

Natacha will apply two protocols during your visit to the canyon.

You’ll be able to admire many of the canyon’s treasures:

The three Rondavels – These rondavels have been given many names, such as the three sisters and the chief and his three wives, a name given by the indigenous people who lived in this region.

Lisbone and Berlin waterfalls – The Lisbone waterfall is the highest in the Mpumalanga region – 94 m.

Bourke’s Luck potholes – These are magnificent rock features, huge holes carved by swirling pebbles in the basins where the Blyde and Treur rivers meet and become one. Over time, the water has carved and sculpted its bed and surroundings, much to the delight of fans of beautiful scenery.

At the end of the day, a brief stop is made in Graskop, much to the delight of those who enjoy local shopping!

Elephant Whispers

On the morning of October 28, you’ll visit the “Elephant whispers” orphanage, then take a silent walk with the elephants.

You’ll enjoy an interactive and instructive experience about the emotional state of elephants, observing first-hand how the elephants have developed trust in the kindness and care they receive from the Elephant Whispers team.

Kruger National Park

On the afternoon of October 28, you’ll enjoy a 4×4 game drive in the famous Kruger National Park, followed by a braai under the stars.

The Kruger Park is one of Africa’s largest wildlife reserves, covering an area of just under 20,000 square kilometers. It is slightly smaller than Belgium. It is 350 kilometers long and 60 kilometers wide.

The park boasts over 2,000 plant species, over 330 plant species, is home to the Big 5 (lion, rhinoceros, buffalo, elephant and leopard) and 500 bird species!

Fitness level

You’ll walk 3-4 hours a day on your walking safari. The walks are easy – as is the visit to the Blyde river canyon. This is more of a relaxing, meditative walk than a sporting activity.

No specific level of physical fitness is required. However, it is recommended that you have no foot, knee or hip pain prior to departure. A medical certificate of fitness will be required for people over 65.

We guarantee you this: bushwalking among wild animals is a sensational experience; you’ll never see the time go by…
